Morning Entry Procedures:

The school day for all Emolior Academy scholars begins at 8:15 a.m. Morning entry for all scholars will take place at exits 5 and 6 (near the school yard) at 8:10 a.m. Mr. Goodwin will greet the scholars and allow them to proceed into the building. All scholars must present their ID card in order to be scanned in for attendance purposes. *Any scholar who does not have their ID will receive after school detention.* If a scholar loses their ID card, it can be purchased from the dean’s office for the amount of $2.00. The ID card is not optional. All scholars must present the ID for attendance purposes. Scholars are solely responsible for having their ID cards on them during morning entry. 


Scholars who come to school after 8:15 a.m. will get a late pass and will be scanned in. The scholar must hand in this late pass to their first period teacher. If a scholar is late two times or more in a week (without written documentation) they will receive detention after school.

Bathroom Policy:

Bathrooms will be closed Periods 1, 5 and 8. Scholars must have a pass to go to the bathroom. 

Cafeteria Policy:

Breakfast is served each morning from 7:30a.m. -8:00 a.m. Scholars who plan to eat breakfast are expected to report to the cafeteria immediately upon arrival to school. Having breakfast is not an acceptable tardy excuse. Once a scholar comes into the cafeteria in the morning for breakfast, they cannot leave or exit the building. If a scholar leaves the cafeteria they will receive a phone call home and have after school detention. No scholar will be allowed to enter the cafeteria for breakfast after 8:00 a.m.

Lunch is served every day at 12:57pm-1:42 p.m. (7th period). Scholars may get lunch from the school or bring their own lunch. Glass bottles are not allowed in the building. Scholars must sit at the table assigned to their class. Scholars will be called to go online to get lunch. Each scholar is to throw away their own trays once they are done with eating their lunch.

*The ID cards will be used for scanning purposes during breakfast and lunch.* 

There will be recess after lunch is done if weather permits. Scholars that are in full uniform will be allowed to go outside for recess. Deans or Administrative staff will decide whether a scholar will be able to go out to recess for any other action that is not acceptable in the cafeteria.

Prohibited Items:

Students may not possess the following items on school property or at school events without the explicit written permission of the administration:

  • Ipads, Ipods, MP3 players, cell phones, beepers, cameras, electronic toys, or any other electronic devices of distraction 

  • Gambling devices such as dice or playing cards 

  • Tobacco products, cigarette lighters, matches, drugs, alcoholic beverages, inhalants, or any such look-a-like (hookah or electronic cigarette pen)

  • Firecrackers, fireballs, cherry bombs, stink bombs, etc… 

  • Gang paraphernalia such as rags, bandannas, jewelry, etc… 

  • Weapons, look-a-like weapons, knives, screwdrivers or other items designed or easily used to cause physical harm 

  • Spinners

  • Medications or pills 

*Any scholar who brings any of the above items to school will report to the dean and will receive a disciplinary action. Possession these items while on school grounds can cause a scholar to violate the NYC Chancellor’s Regulations in the Discipline Code.*

Cell Phones/ Ipods (Electronic Equipment):

Electronics are prohibited in the school building. If a scholar has a cell phone or Ipod out while in class, the teacher will notify the dean. The dean will confiscate the item. The item will not be returned to the scholar until the end of the week. Parents will be notified about the incident. The scholar will come in a sign out for the item upon having it returned to them. If a scholar has to have an item confiscated from them a second time, then the item will not be returned to them for a period of a month. The item will be logged in the dean’s office. Parents will be notified. In the event a scholar needs to contact their parent for any reason, scholars are allowed to make a phone call from the dean’s office with permission. 

*Parents need to call the main office or dean’s office in the event they have to speak with their child. Please do not call or text your child once they are in school. Phones will be confiscated even if the child is texting their parent or guardian.*
